Top 10 smartwatch brands of the first quarter: 173% growth in the Indian smartwatch market.

The smartwatch market in India has witnessed a triple-digit growth in the first quarter of 2022. A new report from Counterpoint has revealed that the overall smartwatch market has grown by 173 percent.

The study also revealed that this growth is due to increased consumer interest, multiple launches during the quarter, and the availability of various discount offers and promotions.

Let’s see which are the top 10 brands.

Noise tops the list as it garnered the highest market share. Shipments of the company’s smartwatches doubled year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022.

The reason for this is that the newly introduced devices of the company have performed quite well. The Colorful Pulse became the best-selling model for the brand.

Fire-bolt took second place for the first time with a share of 21%. It also had several launches this quarter, with the Ninja Pro Max being its most popular device.

In addition, 57% of its watches come with Bluetooth calling functions. The boat is the third company on the list and has registered an impressive 106% year-on-year growth.

Its Xtend and Storm models account for about two-thirds of its total portfolio. Bot launched its first made-in-India smartwatch, the Wave Pro 47, this quarter.

Realme’s Dizo has made it to the top five for the first time. The company introduced an OLED display with its recently launched model Watch R. The brand also expanded its offline presence in the quarter.

Samsung grew 78% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022.

The Galaxy Watch 4 series has been the biggest contributor to the promotions of the Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone in the quarter and higher shipments.

Realme had a 3% stake in the first quarter of 2022. The brand introduced its new smartwatch S100, which was its major volume driver.

The company is expected to refresh its portfolio soon which may lead to an increase in shipments.

Apple grew 104% YoY in Q1 2022, with its 7 Series variant accounting for two-thirds of shipments. It continued to lead the premium segment (>Rs 30,000) with over 87% share.

Amazfit declined 35% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022. The GTS 2 Mini contributed over 30% of its shipments.

With the new GTS Mini 2, we expect it to regain some of its market share in the coming quarter.

At the same time, Zebronics also managed to maintain its position in the top ten. The company launched several affordable models across various online and offline platforms.

OnePlus took the first position in the Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 retail price band with around 45% share.

Xiaomi registered 238% QoQ growth in Q1 2022. Its newly introduced model Redmi Watch 2 Lite is the main driver of its development.
