Officials said that the jawan was posted at a forward post in the Kalsian area of Naushera sector. The injured jawan was given first aid and then taken to the military hospital in Udhampur for specialized treatment. A gunshot fired from the other side of the border struck the jawan.
Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the Line of Control shooting.
