Central government intends to end farmer agitation in Punjab, again sent an invitation for talks. The agitation of farmers in Punjab against the new agricultural laws is not ending. Farmers are protesting on the railway tracks and due to this, the rail service in Punjab is completely stalled.

Despite the appeal of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the farmers are not ending the rail roko movement. In such a situation, the Central Government has now become active to end the farmers’ agitation.

The central government has invited 29 farmer organizations again and on October 14, a call has been called for talks with the government.

The farmers’ organizations are also showing softness after receiving the invitation for talks. Sanjay Aggarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Welfare has said in his letter that the Central Government wants to talk to you (farmers).

Balbir Singh Rajewal, head of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), and Jagmohan Singh, general secretary of the BKU (Dakunda), said that the terminology of the government letter was satisfactory compared to the first letter.

However, the decision to negotiate with the Center will be made in the meeting of farmers’ organizations to be held on October 13 whether to negotiate or not. Let us know that the name of the Ajmer Singh Lakhowal, the chief of Bhakiyu (Lakkowal), is not included in the re-issued letter for talks by the central government.

Farmers’ organizations softened by changing terminology in Center letter, will decide on October 13

Significantly, the central government had earlier called the farmers for talks on 8 October. In the letter issued then, the information about the new agricultural laws was written to the farmers, on which the farmers’ organizations objected to the proposal for talks.

On the other hand, the chairman and former minister of the committee formed by the BJP to negotiate with the farmers’ organizations, Surjit Kumar Jeyani said that the farmer organizations should express their objections by negotiating with the central government. Because instead of protests, the matter will be resolved by negotiation.

Eight central ministers of BJP will also contact farmers

The BJP has decided to field eight Union Ministers to remove the doubts of the farmers about the new agricultural laws. These include Hardeep Puri, Kailash Chaudhary, Smriti Irani, Anurag Thakur.

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Ballia, Som Prakash, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Dr. Jatinder Singh. They will hold virtual meetings with the farmers which will start from Amritsar on 13 October.

Punjab government formed a committee of three ministers

The Punjab government also wants farmers to stop their agitation for the operation of goods trains on rail tracks to overcome the power crisis arising due to coal shortage.

Efforts are also being made to communicate with the farmers for this. For this, a committee of cabinet ministers Trupt Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria has been formed.

Deepening power crisis

The power crisis of the farmers’ rail roko movement has started deepening in Punjab. Coal supplies in the thermal plots are on the verge of being dismantled due to coal supplies being disrupted.

One unit of Shri Goindwal Sahib Thermal Plant has already closed due to coal shortage and another unit is likely to be closed on Monday.

Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Badal expressed concern over the situation

On the other hand, Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal has expressed concern over the situation getting serious from the farmer movement. Manpreet, who came here on around here on Sunday, said that the ration, petrol, and diesel, etc. have expired with the soldiers in Ladakh.

From October 30, snow will start falling there. After this nothing can be transported there for six months. At the same time, if the thermal plants in Punjab do not get coal, the power crisis will deepen.
