Campaign will be started for the conservation of lions and dolphins
Campaign will be started for the conservation of lions and dolphins like Project Tiger. After the unprecedented success of Project Tiger, two different projects will now be started in the country for the protection of Lions and Dolphins.
Under the Project Dolphin, dolphins found in both rivers and seas will be protected. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced this from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
According to the latest estimates, about 37 hundred dolphins are found in different rivers of the country. They are also known as Gangetic dolphins.

The special thing is that even before this announcement of PM Modi, the Ministry of Environment is busy in its preparations. Complete details have been taken about this from the states.
Currently, Gangetic dolphin is found in the states of the rivers passing through or through the country, including Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
Under this project, there will be a campaign to protect the dolphins in the country for the next ten years. According to officials associated with the ministry, the Dolphin Project will be launched soon.

In this way, Project Lion will also be launched. They are also called Asiatic lions. Under this, emphasis will be placed on research to prevent diseases including expanding areas where lions are present.
At present, lions are found only in the Gir Sanctuary of Gujarat in the country. However, as a project, it was planned to keep them in some places besides Gir. Among them is the Kuno-Palpur Sanctuary of Madhya Pradesh.
With this, dozens of villages around this sanctuary were also shifted, but later the plan went into cold storage after Gujarat’s refusal to give it to the lions. At present, this case is still pending in the Supreme Court.
Project Tiger got unprecedented success
The environment ministry has planned to launch these two new projects after the unprecedented success of Project Tiger. Due to which there has been a huge increase in the tiger clan in the country.
At present, this number is around three thousand. Whereas in 2006 their number was only 14 hundred. The Ministry believes that if a similar focus campaign was conducted for lions and dolphins, they would be protected.
It would also be fine to say here, preparations are being made to resettle Cheeto along with it in the country. Which are completely out of the country at the moment. A committee under the supervision of the Supreme Court is working fast on this.
