The dream of taking school education to new heights in the new National Education Policy has now been implemented.

Under this, a plan has been made to make all the schools across the country hi-tech in the next two years. All government schools will be equipped with facilities like internet and Wi-Fi.

All the classes in these schools will be converted into smart classes. At present, the total number of schools in the country is about 15 lakh, out of which about 11 lakh are government schools.

Plan to expand online education under a new education policy.

According to the Ministry of Education, due to the high-tech of the schools, quality online education can be provided to the school children easily.

Along with this, they can be equipped with disciplines like skills, data science, and coding.

Online education has become an important necessity in the conditions that have been created during the Corona crisis.

This is the reason why the ministry has decided to continue online education even further. Under this, education will now be conducted in the mixed (offline and online) mediums in schools.

In this regard, NCERT has been asked to redesign the school curriculum being prepared.

The meeting of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Communications was held

Notably, the new National Education Policy also recommended that unless online education is mixed with experiential and activity-based learning.

It should be a screen-based education with a limited focus on different dimensions of learning. Only it will happen.

According to officials associated with the Ministry of Education, a meeting has also been held with the Ministry of Communications to connect the schools with facilities like Internet and Wi-Fi.

States have also been asked to make necessary preparations regarding this. At present, through this, the ministry also wants to connect school children with subjects like skills, data science, and coding.

Only 22 percent of schools in the country are equipped with the internet.

However, at present, the schools do not have any teachers to teach these subjects. In such a situation, through online education, Ministry wants to connect children with this new mode in a short time.

The Ministry is also excited to equip schools with online education forever because it has tried this option with success during the Corona crisis.

In such a situation, it wants to keep this option to deal with future crises.

It is worth noting that according to the report of the year 2019-20 of the Integrated District Education Information System (UDISE) Plus, only 22 percent of the schools in the country are currently equipped with the Internet.

At the same time, 83 percent of the schools have electricity. However, it was claimed in this report that both these cases have improved over the years.
