If you want such an environment then come to Gulmarg. The Gulmarg Festival starts here on Saturday.
In this, the local youth will show their brilliance not only in song and music but also in winter sports. Bollywood stars like Arbaaz Khan and Vidya Balan are also coming.
The Gulmarg Festival will run till February 8 (Monday). The Indian Army is doing this in coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department.
The ceremony marks the end of terrorism and the beginning of a new phase of peace and development in Kashmir, coming out of the specter of Corona.
In this Gulmarg festival, there will be skiing, snowmobile, ATV races, and snow cycling. Local budding singers and artists like Altamash Faridi.
Abid Ale, Shafi Sopori, Zubair Khan, Wasim Ahmed will introduce people to Kashmir’s rich Sufi music tradition. Wadi’s famous Omar rock band will also perform.
The Gulmarg Festival was started by the Army about six years ago with the intention of encouraging the talent of sports and song and music among the local youth and to encourage tourism.
Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department also joined it and then it became an annual event in Gulmarg. However, during the last two years, this festival could not be held due to the state of local law and order.
Director of Tourism Department, Kashmir, Dr. GN Ittu said that the local tourism world has great hope from the Gulmarg festival.
This is happening at a time when the situation in Kashmir is constantly improving. The atmosphere of security and trust is steadily strengthening. Tourists will also come from abroad.
At the festival, tourists will get to see the multicolored culture of Kashmir.
February is normally the offseason in terms of tourism, but due to this festival, not only Gulmarg, but the whole state will get new energy in tourism. It focuses entirely on local youth.
Festival of unwavering relationship with youth: Army spokesman said that Gulmarg festival is a part of our motive for ‘Jawan aur awam, Aman hai mukam’ in Kashmir.
The festival is a festival to pursue an unbreakable relationship between the army and the common Kashmiri youth in Kashmir.
