Tamil Nadu MP Vasant Kumar dies of coronavirus, PM Modi-Governor expressed grief. 70-year-old Vasant Kumar, a two-time MLA, was elected as a Member of Parliament for the first time in the Lok Sabha elections last year. Congress MP from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu H. Vasant Kumar died of corona in a hospital here on Friday.
Many people including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Governor of Telangana have expressed grief over his death. 70-year-old Vasant Kumar, a two-time MLA, was elected for the first time in the Lok Sabha elections last year. He was also the acting president of the Pradesh Congress.
He was admitted to Apollo Hospital here on August 10 after being found infected with corona. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. The hospital reported that he was kept in CCU in critical condition. His condition was deteriorating continuously and despite all efforts he could not be saved.
Singer Balasubramanya’s condition stable
Eminent singer SP Balasubramanian’s condition remains stable. However, they are still kept on ventilator and ECMO support in ICU. He is admitted to MGM Hospital. The hospital said that he is conscious and the treatment is affecting him. His corona investigation was conducted on August 21, which has been reported negative. On August 5, he was found infected with Corona and released the video on social media himself.
Meanwhile The Puducherry Health Department said that 550 new corona virus (COVID-19) cases were reported in Puducherry on Saturday. With this, 12 people have also died in the union territory. With this, the total number of corona virus (COVID-19) cases in the union territory is 13,556. Out of which 4,834 are active cases. Of the total cases, 8,511 infected people have been cured so far. At the same time 211 people have died.
