All three have been in judicial custody since July. In the charge sheet, ED quoted Swapna as saying that she had met Chief Minister Vijayan six times in the presence of suspended IAS officer M. Shivshankar.

And was aware of his appointment in the Chief Minister’s Space Park project at a salary of Rs 1.5 lakh per month. Were. Although Vijayan has been denying this.

According to the charge sheet, in August 2019, Swapna resigned from the UAE consulate and sought help from Shivshankar, the then principal secretary to the chief minister, to get the job. Shivshankar asked her to apply to Price Water House Coopers Pvt Ltd for recruitment to the Space Park project.

In this, Swapna had written the name of Shivshankar as a reference and was selected in October 2019. Swapna stated that she had officially met Shivshankar eight times, but had unofficially met him several times. In her statement, she also said that she and Sarith had been approached by another chief accused, Ramis, for smuggling gold.

In the charge sheet, the ED has also stated the need for a detailed investigation against Shivshankar as he had helped Swapna in providing the locker at the State Bank and this locker was used to keep the profits from gold smuggling.

In a statement to the ED on 12 and 15 August, Shivshankar admitted that he had jointly helped Swapna to provide a bank locker with his chartered accountant P. Venugopal. However, he denied information about Swapna having large amounts of cash.
