Politics Of Maharashtra Heats Up On The Statement Of Usmani

Politics of Maharashtra heats up on the statement of Sergil Usmani, Fadnavis demands strict action.

Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Devendra Fadnavis has demanded strict action against Sergil Usmani who made inflammatory speeches during the Elgar Parishad held in Pune on 30 January.

Aligarh University alumnus Sergil has also been arrested for demonstrating against the CAA in Delhi last year.

Fadnavis has threatened that if the appropriate action is not taken against Sergil Usmani, the BJP will launch a movement against the government.

On the lines of 2017, Yalgar Parishad was once again held on 30 January in Pune. Apart from Serjil Usmani, writer Arundhati Roy, former IPS SM Mushrif, and former judge of Mumbai High Court BG Kolse-Patil were also involved.

Sergil Usmani in the Council made sharp comments on a particular religion. Expressing his objection, BJP leader Fadnavis has written to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray demanding action against Sergil Usmani.

Politics of Maharashtra: Fadnavis says that Serjeel has insulted Hindus in his speech. Fadnavis himself has given information about this letter by tweeting.

Fadnavis, in his letter to Thackeray, wrote verbatim portions of Serjeel’s speech. In which he has been told that – Hindu society of today, Hindu society in India is badly rotten.

These people who do lynchings do murder. If they go to their house after killing, what will they do with themselves? Some would wash their hands in a new way, some would take medication and take a bath.

What do these people do that come back among us and eat, sit and watch movies. The next day, they catch someone again, murder them, and then live a normal life.

Politics of Maharashtra: Fadnavis has accused the government of collusion and said that such programs cannot be done without the help of the government.

Reactions are also being seen in the Mahavikas Aghadi for the words used in Sergil’s speech. Senior NCP minister Chhagan Bhujbal has said that words should be used wisely while accusing a religion.

You have the right to speak, but it should also be considered not to hurt anyone’s feelings.

NCP leader and state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh have also said on Monday that we have given instructions to examine the video clip of all the speeches made in the Yalgar Parishad.

The police will see if anything objectionable has been said in the said program or not. Action will be taken accordingly.

Let me tell you that in Pune itself, after the Elgar Parishad on December 31, 2017, the next day an ethnic riot broke out in Bhima-Koregaon, Pune.

In the subsequent police investigation, several Maoist activists have been arrested in this case so far.
