Nawab Malik did not got bail: The court dismissed the interim application in Malik’s habeas corpus petition.
ED has arrested Nawab Malik in a money laundering case. Nawab Malik is accused of having links with Dawood Ibrahim and his relatives and has bought properties of an underworld don.
The ED had called Nawab Malik for questioning in the past and then also arrested him. Nawab Malik had approached the High Court to quash the FIR registered in the same case, which was heard today.
The special PMLA court on Monday rejected the bail plea of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in the money laundering case in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra.
It is to be known that the Bombay High Court today gave its verdict on the habeas corpus petition of Nawab Malik. Malik had filed this petition challenging his arrest.
Maharashtra’s Minority Development Minister and NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik were arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on February 23.
He was arrested in connection with the money laundering case involving fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim and his accomplices.
Nawab Malik was sent to judicial custody for 14 days by a special court in Mumbai on 7 March. It is known that Nawab Malik was arrested on 23 February in the money laundering case.
The special PMLA court had taken this action against Nawab Malik in the money laundering case involving underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
Nawab Malik has said in his application that the action taken by the Enforcement Directorate against him is wrong and illegal.
It is to be known that earlier during the hearing held on March 3, the special court had extended his custody till March 7. The ED had detained Nawab Malik from his house on the morning of February 23.
At the same time, according to the ED, Nawab Malik allegedly hatched a conspiracy with members of the Dawood gang to usurp the ancestral property of a woman and was being paid a nominal price for it.
Whereas, it is known that its cost was about 300 crores. It should be known that this case, which is more than 20 years old, was disclosed by former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis in November 2021.
