Illegal Liquor Worth Rs 5.47 Crore Destroyed In Andhra Pradesh

Illegal liquor worth Rs 5.47 crore was destroyed in Andhra Pradesh, and 2.43 lakh bottles were seized from Telangana.

Andhra Pradesh Police on Wednesday seized and destroyed 2.43 lakh liquor bottles that were illegally transported from Telangana. According to the police, the bottles contained liquor worth Rs 5.47 crore.

Liquor bottles were destroyed at Nandigama in the NTR district. Liquor bottles were destroyed in the presence of senior police officers. This information was given by the news agency.

Giving more details about the matter, Vijayawada Police Commissioner Kanthi Rana Tata said that the liquor bottles were illegally taken from Telangana.

So far we have destroyed 2,000 liters of illicit liquor and registered 226 cases.

Also said that on the orders of the state government, Andhra Pradesh Police is conducting surprise raids at check posts on the outskirts of the city. ‘

The move comes after reports of illegal liquor transport from other states to Andhra Pradesh.

Illegal liquor bottles worth about Rs 2 crore were seized from Kurnool.

Earlier this year, the Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) seized 66,000 bottles of liquor worth around Rs 2 crore from Kurnool.

The SEB had advised the police to keep a close watch on those involved in illegal transportation and sale of liquor across the country.

Last June, the Andhra Pradesh Police destroyed 33,934 illicit liquor bottles worth Rs 80 lakh in the Eluru district.
