Ilker Ayci will be the new CEO and MD of Air India. Former Turkish Airlines President Ilker Ayci will be the new CEO and MD of Air India, know about him.
The Tata Group on Monday appointed Ilker Ayci, former Turkish Airlines chairman, as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) of Air India.
He will assume office on or before April 1, 2022. The Air India Board met on Monday afternoon to consider the candidature of Ilker Ayci.
Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran was a special invitee to the board meeting.
Tata Sons said in a statement that the board after due deliberations approved the appointment of Ilker Ayci as CEO and MD of Air India.
The Tata Group took over the management and control of Air India from the government last month.
Reacting to his appointment, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran said that Ilkar AC is an aviation industry leader who has led Turkish Airlines to its current success during his tenure.

Until recently, Ilker was the chairman of C Turkish Airlines. Prior to this, he was also on the board of the company.
Ayce, an alumnus of the University of Bilkent, did research work in Political Science from the University of Leeds in 1995.
After this, he did his Masters in International Relations in the year 1997 from Marmara University in Istanbul. Ilkar Ayci is known as one of Turkey’s big businessmen.
He also served as an advisor to Turkish President Erdogan in 1994. He served as the chairman of Turkish Airlines from 2015 to 2022.
Ilkar Eyci has also held several positions in Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. He also served as the CEO of several insurance companies from 2005 to 2011.
In January 2011 he served as chairman of Turkey’s Prime Ministerial Investment Support and Promotion Agency.
Ilkar Ayce resigned from the board of Turkish Airlines on 26 January 2022. On his appointment, the AIC said, “I am honored to lead a reputed airline and join the Tata Group.
