We had some suggestions which we have shared with the party president. In the meeting with Sonia Gandhi, the issue of upcoming assembly elections was discussed.

It is worth noting that recently Kapil Sibal had said that leaving the leadership of the Gandhi family, some other leader should be given a chance.

When asked about Sibal’s statement, Azad said that there is no question about the leadership yet. Sonia Gandhi is the President of Congress.

At present, there is no issue with the party president. Elections will be held in a few months in which party workers will decide who will become the president of the party.

This statement of Azad is being considered very important. It is clear from this statement of Azad that the leaders of G-23 have softened their stand on party leadership.

It is known that a meeting of G-23 group leaders was held on Wednesday at the residence of Ghulam Nabi Azad. The results of the recent assembly elections were discussed in this meeting.

Apart from Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma, Manish Tewari, Kapil Sibal, Shashi Tharoor, Shankar Singh Vaghela, Vivek Tankha, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Sandeep Dixit.

Prithviraj Chavan, Bhupendra Singh Hooda, PJ Kurien, Raj Babbar, Kuldeep Sharma, Mani Shankar Iyer, Rajendra Kaur Bhattal, MA Khan, and Preneet Kaur were present.

Leaders of the G-23 group said that talks should be initiated with like-minded parties to present a credible alternative for the next Lok Sabha elections.

In a statement issued after the meeting, it was said that the Congress party members brainstormed on the results of the elections.

Everyone believes that the Congress party needs to be strengthened to oppose the BJP.

It is worth noting that this group, which has been demanding change within the Congress, has been intensified even by leaders close to the Gandhi family.
