IPL 2022: Lucknow Supergiants got a setback, fast bowler Mark Wood out of IPL.

There are only a few days left for the start of the Indian Premier League 2022. Earlier, the team of Lucknow, playing IPL for the first time, has suffered a setback.

In fact, England fast bowler Mark Wood has been ruled out of the IPL due to a right elbow injury. He was bought by the team of Lucknow in the mega auction at a great price of 7.50 crores.

Currently, the England team is playing a test match with West Indies.

Mark Wood suffered an injury on the third day of the first Test against West Indies due to which he was able to bowl only 5 overs in the first innings.

In the second innings, he did not even enter the field. Since then it was being speculated that the injury was more serious.

Now scans have confirmed that he has a problem with his elbow and will return to England next week.

The England Cricket Board has confirmed the news that he had been ruled out of the third Test against West Indies and the upcoming IPL.

For the time being, he has been advised to stay away from cricket till further notice. His injury will be monitored by a team of experts.

Shakib Mahmood made his debut in the second test.

After he was ruled out of the second Test, the England team gave 25-year-old player Shakib Mahmood a chance to make his debut.

Wood is the second bowler to be dropped from the England side. Earlier, Ali Robinson too could not make it to the second Test.

England captain Joe Root had praised Shakib a lot and called him an effective and mature bowler.

Let us tell you that England has come on this tour to West Indies without its two best bowlers Stuart Broad and James Anderson. The third Test against West Indies will start on March 24.
