Four terrorists killed by the Indian Army in Manipur’s Hingorani, the operation is still going on.
Security forces including 3 Corps of Assam Rifles and the Indian Army gunned down 4 terrorists during a joint operation in Hingorani, Manipur.
Giving more details of the incident, the PRO of the Defense Ministry in Manipur said that the operation was launched yesterday and this morning there was firing from both sides.
The operation is still going on. The terrorists killed in the encounter belonged to the Kuki group.
Only last week, the NIA arrested a self-styled head of the outlawed Kuki extremist group UKLF on charges of arms smuggling and carrying out illegal activities against the country.
The self-styled president of the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF), Lhunkhoson Haokip, was on the run. He was also accused of stealing weapons of the Assam Rifles.
Let us inform you that recently, Manipur Police had arrested an active cadre of the banned militant organization PRP of K-P from Imphal West district and seized a huge quantity of IED explosive material.
Imphal West Superintendent of Police S Ibomcha Singh said that the police had arrested the terrorist from Larikyengbam Makha Leikai area of Lamphel police station area of the district.
The police had seized heavily Improvised Explosive Device (IED) material from the possession of the arrested terrorist.
It included a set of IEDs fitted in a fish box, an airgun rifle, four peek cakes, three electronic circuits, a remote control device, three detonators.
