West Indies Team Announced For ODI Series Against India

West Indies team announced for ODI series against India, Pollard will be the captain, return of this swashbuckling bowler.

The Cricket West Indies (CWI) selection panel has announced the squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against India.

Veteran pacer Kemar Roach, middle-order batsman Nkrumah Bonner and opener Brandon King have returned to the team. Roach has played 92 ODIs so far, taking 124 wickets.

Bonner made his ODI debut in Bangladesh a year ago and has played three matches so far, while King has played four in this format so far.

West Indies will tour the subcontinent from February 6-20, where they will play a series of three ODIs and three T20Is.

The ODI matches will be played on February 6, 9, and 11 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The T20Is will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on February 16, 18, and 20, with the team expected to be announced on Friday.

The ODI series will be part of the ICC ODI Super League and West Indies will have an opportunity to score points to be among the top seven teams to achieve automatic qualification in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Let us tell you that the World Cup is to be held in India and that the host team does not need qualifications.

Chief selector, Desmond Haynes, said, “Kemar Roach is one of our key fast bowlers and we believe we need bowlers to pick up wickets early on and Kemar, with an economy rate of five, is definitely a good option.”

Nkrumah Bonner has done exceptionally well in the last few years and we believe he should be given a chance to play in the 50-over format.
