Controversy over Jinnah Tower in Guntur over hoisting the tricolor, BJP targets CM, demands a change of name.

On the auspicious occasion of the country’s 73rd Republic Day, a political dispute emerged in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.

Jinnah Tower in Guntur was attacked by some people after which he was taken into custody.

After this, the BJP demanded that this tower should be named after the former President of the country, Abdul Kalam.

While attacking the BJP, MLC Appi Reddy has said that BJP wants to give it a communal color. Reddy has also accused the BJP of instigating people.

Controversy over Jinnah Tower in Guntur: He also said why the name of this tower was not changed when BJP was in power.

Reddy said the BJP was trying to instigate people by raising communal issues. The BJP has been making controversial statements about the demolition of the memorial for the last two weeks.

BJP leaders should not forget that they were in alliance with TDP from 1999 to 2004 and again from 2014 to 2019.

Subsequently, Vellampally Srinivasa Rao, a minister in the YSRCP government, said in a tweet that the parties that ruled the state between 2014-19 did not remember the Jinnah Tower in Guntur.

On the other hand, BJP National Secretary Sunil Deodhar, in a tweet targeting the state government, directly asked CM Jagan Mohan Reddy whether Guntur is a part of the Republic of India or not.

He also said that we are not in Pakistan. Shame on the state government which prevented Hindu Vahini workers from unfurling the national flag there on Republic Day.

BJP will not give up the fight to change the name of Jinnah Tower to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
