West Indies beat England by 9 wickets in the first T20, Jason Holder shines Eng vs WI.

After Test cricket, England’s poor performance in T20 also continues. Hosts West Indies defeated them by 9 wickets in the first match of the five-match series on Saturday.

Batting first, the visiting team was all out for 103 runs in 19.4 overs. The Caribbean team achieved this target with 9 wickets and 17 balls to spare.

The English team, who came out to bat after losing the toss, was seen struggling from the beginning. The team’s score was three wickets for 10 runs at one time.

Openers Jason Roy (6), Tom Banton (4), and Moeen Ali returned to the pavilion for ducks. It seemed that the team would not be able to score even 100 runs. Seven wickets fell for 49 runs in 12 overs.

After this, the lower-order batsmen Chris Jordan and Adil Rashid handled England’s innings to some extent. Jordan scored 28 runs in 23 balls for England.

The same Adil Rashid scored 22 runs in 18 balls. Captain Eoin Morgan scored 17 runs. James Vince scored 14 runs. Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes have been rested.

The team missed both of them very much. Jason Holder took 4 wickets for 7 runs in 3.4 overs for West Indies. Sheldon Cottrell took two wickets.

West Indies beat England: Chasing the target of 104 runs, the West Indies team got off to a good start. The team easily chased down the target with Brandon King’s unbeaten 52 off 49 balls.

Nicholas Pooran scored an unbeaten 27 to help the hosts chase down the target in 17.1 overs. The only wicket of the team fell as Shai Hope.

He played an innings of 20 runs. Adil Rashid took his wicket. The second T20 is on Sunday.

Changes have been made in the series of matches played between India and West Indies. After finishing the tour of South Africa, the Indian team is to host the West Indies team.

After the three-match ODI series, both the teams will play in the same number of T20I series.

The BCCI on Saturday 22 January announced the changed schedule in which the ODI series is to be held in Ahmedabad and the T20 series in Kolkata.

Keeping in mind the seriousness of the corona infection, the board has decided to organize the series in only 2 cities instead of 6 cities.
