Lemon crops are grown in various taluks, including Indi, Chandana, Sindagi, and God Hipparagi talukas in the Vijayapur district.
However, the problems of these lemon growers have remained problematic till now without proper assistance from the governments. If the water problem is a cause of crop failure due to frequent drought, there is another reason for the decrease in yield.
Many farmers have been suffering from hardship to the detriment of the lemon plantations that have been maintained for many years.
Against this backdrop, these lemon growers of Basavanadu are anxiously awaiting the government’s grant to the Lemon Development Board in this year’s budget.
