Two dozen teenagers were injured due to the collapse of an elevated walkway in Texas Beach City, America, five were airlifted.

A major accident took place on Thursday in a seaside town in the US state of Texas.

Let us tell you that about two dozen teenagers from the summer camp were injured due to the collapse of an elevated walkway. Out of which five teenagers were taken by helicopter to the hospital.

Why did the elevated walkway fall?

An investigation into the cause of the elevated walkway collapse at Surfside Beach, a small town on the Gulf of Mexico about 60 miles (97 km) south of downtown Houston, is underway, according to Brazoria County officials.

Justin Mills, Assistant Chief of the Surfside Beach Volunteer Fire Department, said,

The department responded to an emergency call at 12:34 pm and arranged for the landing of a medical helicopter.

What did the information officer say?

According to Brazoria County public information officer Sharon Trover, all the victims were from the Bayou City Fellowship summer camp, ages 14 to 18.

According to the information received, the five victims brought with the help of a helicopter were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Sharon Trover said six of the injured were taken to local hospitals by ambulance, while about 10 others were taken to hospitals in private vehicles.
