Uproar in Parliament over the Pegasus scandal continued for the 13th day if the opposition justified it, the BJP raised questions.

Justifying the ongoing ruckus in Parliament over the Pegasus espionage scandal, the opposition has once again given a clear message of not compromising on its demand for a discussion on it in both the houses.

Due to the opposition’s attitude, there was a deadlock in the Parliament for the 13th consecutive day.

Then the government has increased the pace of passing them by introducing some big bills including economic reforms.

The opposition has also strongly opposed this stand of the government to pass important bills ignoring the war on espionage scandal.

On the other hand, BJP has been furious for dragging a former Supreme Court judge into the Pegasus controversy without any evidence.

Due to opposition uproar in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the proceedings continued to be adjourned throughout the day.

But in the same noise, the Rajya Sabha passed the Bill related to the amendment in the list of Scheduled Tribes of Arunachal Pradesh and the Bill related to the Essential Defense Services.

The government introduced important bills related to the creation of a central university in Ladakh and tax reforms in the Lok Sabha.

Leader of the CPP in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, objected to the Finance Minister’s introduction of a bill to amend the Tax Reform Act, saying it was not mentioned in the agenda for the day.

Suddenly the tradition of parliamentary democracy is being demolished by including it in the additional agenda.

Chowdhary said that amid the impasse in Parliament, the government is passing a bill in a hurry on an average in seven minutes. RSP’s NK Premachandran also opposed the introduction of the Tax Reforms Amendment Bill.

Kharge said – the demand for debate is justified.

However, despite the uproar and objection of the opposition, both the bills were introduced in the Lok Sabha and the house was adjourned for the whole day.

In the Rajya Sabha too, the opposition was very agitated over the debate on the Pegasus scandal and on Wednesday there was a ruckus over the behavior of six suspended TMC members after the House was adjourned.

The house was also adjourned several times. Amid the uproar, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge said the Pegasus espionage scandal is a very serious matter and the demand for a debate by the opposition parties on it is justified.

A ruckus is also a form of democratic protest.

On the opposition’s allegations of blocking the Parliament, Kharge said that the uproar in the House is also a form of democratic protest.

Kharge also referred to Arun Jaitley’s statement in this context while being the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha.

Then Deputy Chairman Harivansh immediately adjourned the House for some time. Even after this, the ruckus and disruption continued throughout the day and in the meantime, two bills were passed.

The government termed the standoff unreasonably.

Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi termed the opposition’s impasse in the House as “unwarranted” and termed the government’s stand to introduce the Bills in the House as fully lawful.

As soon as Defense Minister Rajnath Singh got the House’s seal on the Bill related to the Essential Defense Services by voice vote, the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha were also adjourned for the whole day.

The opposition has not been able to present the evidence.

On the other hand, the BJP is furious for dragging a former Supreme Court judge into the Pegasus controversy without any evidence.

Former IT minister and senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said that till now the opposition has failed to present even a single preliminary evidence in the matter.

He said that on one hand, the opposition is demanding a debate on the issue in Parliament.

While on the other hand, it is also working to stop IT, minister Ashwini Vaishnav, from making statements by snatching papers from his hands.
