Tensions Between The US And Russia Over Ukraine

Tensions between the US and Russia over Ukraine seem to be rising once again. America and Russia face to face on Ukraine, Blinken said – will have to face dire consequences.

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Tuesday that Russia would face “massive consequences” if it proceeds with aggression against Ukraine.

We are working in very close coordination with our allies and partners on not only our shared concerns but also a meaningful and comprehensive response.

If Russia commits new acts of aggression against Ukraine, we will oppose, Blinken said during a press briefing.

NATO, the European Union, and the G7 have all made it clear that Russia will face dire consequences if it shows aggression against Ukraine.

Blinken said that Russia and the United States had agreed to a more stable relationship when President Joe Biden and President Putin met for the first time in Geneva.

But if Russia continues its aggressive actions, we will strongly oppose it.

During a video call between Biden and Putin earlier this month, the US president warned that the US and its allies would retaliate strongly if Russia took military action against Ukraine.

On the other hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz discussed European security issues and the situation in Ukraine during a phone conversation on Tuesday.

Putin informed Scholz about Russian proposals for long-term and legally binding security guarantees that prevent NATO from expanding eastward and deploying offensive weapons near Russia.

They also discussed the problems of resolving the internal conflict in Ukraine.

As far as Russian-German relations are concerned, the two leaders expressed a common interest in further developing bilateral relations and maintaining contact through various channels.

Earlier, Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron had a phone conversation to discuss European security issues and the situation in Ukraine.
