Hearing a petition filed by AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj in connection with the attack and vandalism at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence.

The Delhi High Court has given Delhi Police a chance to submit a status report before issuing notice.

A bench of Acting Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Navin Chawla directed the police to file the status report in a sealed cover within two weeks.

Along with this, the police were also ordered to preserve other evidence including the video pictures captured in the CCTV camera that was broken during the incident.

During the hearing, senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Saurabh Bhardwaj, presented the video of the incident before the bench, contending that the gate was vandalized and CCTV cameras were vandalized.

Referring to the order given by the Supreme Court in the case of a lapse in the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he demanded a special investigation team to investigate the incident.

Opposing this, Additional Solicitor General Sanjay Ghosh, appearing for the Central Government, said that there is no basis for the petition, as FIR has been registered in the matter and an investigation is on.

He filed the petition within 24 hours of the incident. also raised questions. In response to this, the bench said that we have seen the video.

The gate has been cracked and people were trying to cross the gate. Not only this, but the police were also not doing anything. In such a situation, the police will have to tell what was their settlement.

The ASG said that a petitioner is a political person. On the other hand, senior advocate Rahul Mehra, appearing for Saurabh, said that the Delhi Police was not doing any charity.

He said that the police are saying that they will find a solution by sitting in the secretariat, so if something like this happens outside the PMO, will the police sit and find a solution.

After hearing all the parties, the bench adjourned the hearing till April 25, directing to file the status report.

Aam Aadmi Party MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj on Thursday filed a petition seeking an SIT probe into the vandalism that took place at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence on Wednesday.

Aam Aadmi Party MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj said that this is a direct attack on democracy.

He has sought directions from the Delhi Police and the Home Ministry to ensure the security of the Chief Minister and his residence.

This is in violation of the 2017 order. Which the court had asked the police to ensure that there was no protest on the road opposite the Chief Minister’s residence.

He also alleged that the attackers and sabotage are linked to the BJP and the Home Ministry has complete control over Delhi. In such a situation, there is no possibility of a proper investigation.

The petition also said that before the year 2020 BJP workers attacked Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s residence.

During this, the police were present there, but no steps were taken to stop the attackers.
