Speaker’s election for Kerala Legislative Assembly continues, first session begins yestraday. The Speaker’s election to the Kerala Legislative Assembly is going on.
The first session of the 15th Legislative Assembly was started on Monday, three days after the formation of a government led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Kerala.
During this time the covid-19 protocol was taken care of. The legislators who reached the assembly were sworn in after winning the election for the first time.
On the first day of the session, Protem Speaker P. Rahim administered the oath to the new MLAs.

In their election affidavit, 12 ministers of the new government in power in Kerala have given information about criminal cases against them. The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has released a report in this regard.
The Kerala Election Watch and ADR analyzed the affidavits submitted by 20 of the 21 ministers. The affidavit of CPI (M) leader and Minister V Sivanakutty was not available on the Election Commission website.
According to the report, 12 or 60 percent have declared criminal cases against themselves while five or 25 percent have declared serious criminal cases to be filed. 13 ministers are millionaires.
Eight ministers have been educated from eighth to 12th while 12 ministers have graduated or more.
Newly elected members of the Assembly took oath.
The first session of the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly began on Monday. On the first day, newly elected MLAs were administered the oath of membership under the stringent Covid-19 protocol.
Out of these 53 have been selected for the first time. In the swearing-in ceremony that lasted for three hours before the session started at 9 am, 136 out of 140 members of the house were sworn in.
Three MLAs K.K. Babu, M. Vicente and Sports Minister V. Abdurahim could not take oath on Monday. Protem speaker PTA Rahim has been sworn in at the Raj Bhavan by Governor Arif Muhammad Khan.
