A high alert has been sounded in Kerala after a bomb was hurled at the AKG Center, the party headquarters of the ruling CPI(M) in the capital of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram late on Thursday.
Whereas on Friday i.e. today Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is going to reach his constituency Wayanad for a three-day tour.
Kerala Police said CCTV footage showed a man coming on a two-wheeler around 11:30 pm and hurling a bomb at the building’s gate and running away.
He said there was no damage to the building, but the speed of the locally made bomb was high.
Speaking to the media, CPI(M) Central Committee member PK Smt. said, “I was staying on the third floor of AKG Center and I heard a hoarse sound around 11.30 am and saw smoke rising from the gate.
I was really shocked. All democratic forces must condemn this dastardly attack”. Party secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that Congress was behind the attack.
