School Bag Policy 2020: Union Ministry of Education issued School Bag Policy, the weight of the bag will not exceed 5kg.
The disputes that have often arisen over the weight of school students’ bags have been put to an end by the government. The government has prepared a new bag policy regarding this.
Accordingly, the weight of the school children will not be more than ten percent of their weight.
Under this, the weight of the weight of the students studying in the first class has been fixed on an average 1.6 to 2.2 kg.
While the weight of the students studying in class XII will now be between 3.5 to 5 kg on average. At the same time, there will be no bags for children studying in pre-primary.
The Union Ministry of Education has directed all states and union territories to implement it strictly from the new academic session.
Weighing machines will be placed in schools to check the weight of children’s bags.
Publishers will also have to print the reason behind the books. There will be a total of three books for the first class students, total weight of 1,078 grams.
At the same time, there will be a total of six books for students studying in XII, whose weight has been fixed at 4,182 grams. A timetable will also have to be prepared for studies.
The Ministry of Education had constituted a high level committee to determine the weight of the bags of the students. The committee has finalized it after a detailed survey.
Guidelines were also given from time to time by different courts regarding the weight of school students.
Who will share the weight of the bag
In the baggage of school students, the weight of books will be 500 grams to 3.5 kg, while the weight of copies will be 200 grams to 2.5 kg.
With this, the weight of the lunch box will also be between two hundred grams to one kilogram and the weight of the water bottle will be between two hundred grams to one kilogram.
At present, whatever the total weight of the bag will be, it will remain ten percent of the body weight of the student.
