It is being told that Sidhu was upset with the appointment of APS Deol to the post of Advocate General of Punjab. Deol has fought a case against the government in sacrilege cases.

Apart from this, he has also fought the case of Captain Amarinder Singh and former DGP Sumedh Singh Saini. Sidhu did not want Deol to be given the post of AG.

Navjot Singh Sidhu was eager to remove Captain Amarinder Singh from the post of CM for a long time.

In the end, he created an atmosphere within the party against the Captain. Captain Amarinder Singh had to step down as Chief Minister.

Navjot Singh Sidhu was hopeful that the high command would present him as the CM as an alternative to the Captain.

But in the meeting of the Congress Legislature Party, Sunil Jakhar remained the first number.

There were 40 MLAs in favor of making Sunil Jakhar the CM, while there were 20 MLAs in favor of making Randhawa the CM. Only got the support of 12 MLAs.

After a lot of struggle at the party, the name of the fourth face Charanjit Singh was stamped as CM. Channi has now taken over the command of the CM post.

He has also formed his cabinet. Navjot Singh Sidhu was hopeful that the party high command would project him as the next CM.
