Rishiganga hydropower project, 150 feared dead, 16 people trapped in tunnel rescued. The Rishiganga hydropower project has been completely destroyed after the avalanche in Chamoli district.

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat is constantly monitoring this incident. After reaching Chamoli district, the CM inspected the disaster-hit areas of Tapovan and Rainei and gave directions to everyone, after which they left for Doon.

ITBP has rescued all 16 people trapped in the tunnel in Tapovan.

Seven dive teams of the Indian Navy are on standby for relief-rescue operations in Uttarakhand – Indian Navy officers.

A border road organization bridge near Malari has been washed away by floods. Director-General BRO Lt Gen Rajiv Chaudhary has directed the officials to restore it as soon as possible. Shops and personnel are being moved to safer places.

ITBP DG SS Deshwal said that 9-10 bodies have been recovered from the river. Search operation in progress. 250 ITBP personnel are present.

Four army columns, two medical teams, and an engineering task force have been deployed in Reni village of Tapovan area.

DIG SDRF Riddhim Agarwal told that 46 people are trapped in two tunnels of Tapovan. There are 16 people in one tunnel and 30 in the other. Both tunnels are closed. Preparations are on to rescue them from here.

Seven teams of SDRF are engaged in the rescue. The commander himself has done wonders. The teams were involved in evacuating the missing and submerged persons.

DGP Ashok Kumar told that 15-16 people are trapped in the tunnel. They are in contact. They will be resumed soon.

Bro Shivalik Project Chief Engineer Ashu Singh Rathore said that his team is present at the scene and is engaged in the task of rescue.

Indian army deployed helicopters and soldiers

The Indian Army has deployed helicopters and troops to help the Uttarakhand government and the NDRF to deal with the floods.

The military station near Rishikesh is actively involved in coordinating rescue and relief operations with the local administration. The army headquarters is monitoring the situation.

Teams also leave for Uttarakhand from Delhi

Home Minister Amit Shah said that three teams of NDRF have reached Uttarakhand. More teams are set to leave for Uttarakhand from Delhi. There is also ITBP personnel.
