IPL 2022 CSK vs MI: Chennai Super Kings out, Mumbai Indians break their dream of a playoff.

After the 59th match from the 15th season of the Indian Premier League, it was decided to play the playoffs of Chennai Super Kings.

Mumbai Indians, who were already out of the race for the playoffs, defeated Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s team on Thursday and broke his dream too.

On the strength of superb bowling, Mumbai spoiled their work by throwing Chennai for just 97 runs. Chasing the target, Mumbai had to struggle but the team won.

Harbhajan Singh, the former captain of the team, considers the Mumbai match like that of India and Pakistan. A similar sight was seen in the match held in Wankhede, Mumbai on Thursday.

After winning the toss, Rohit Sharma decided to bowl first. The Chennai team suffered initial setbacks and the team could not recover from them.

Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni struggled at one end alone and played an unbeaten inning of 36 runs off 33 balls.

The target was small for Mumbai but Chennai made it difficult. Finally, after losing 5 wickets, the team got the victory in the 15th over.

Chennai’s team needed to win the match against Mumbai to stay in the race for the playoffs.

After playing 11 matches, the team had won 4 matches and by winning the remaining three matches, the team could present its claim.

Mumbai beat Chennai by 5 wickets and knocked them out of the playoff race. Now even after winning the remaining two matches, Chennai will be able to reach only 12 points.

Mumbai is already out of the playoff.

Mumbai’s team had to face defeat in 8 consecutive matches this season.

With such a start, the team’s playoff hopes were over. A team has to play 14 matches in a season and by winning 5 matches, Mumbai’s team could reach only 10 points.

The first 8 losses meant that the team could now spoil the work of the other team in the remaining matches but could not go ahead on its own.
