The Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference, an organization of Panches, Sarpanches, has strongly condemned the killing of Sarpanch and his Panch wife by terrorists in Kashmir.

Panchayat Conference President Anil Sharma has demanded that the government should take steps to ensure the security of panchayat representatives.

The appeal was made after the situation arising out of the killing of Sarpanch Ghulam Rasool and his wife Jawahar Bano in the terrorist attack.

The security of Panchayat representatives should be audited so that terrorists do not succeed in targeting them.

Anil Sharma, in a statement issued here on Monday evening, said that this is not the first time that the panchayat representatives have been attacked by terrorists.

Terrorists have been attacking panchayat representatives continuously since 2011. So far, 24 panchayat representatives have died in these.

In such a situation, the government should take a fresh look at the security of the Panchayat representatives.

All the matters related to his security should be sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs soon for further action by the Security Wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police.

It is necessary to provide security to such Panchayat representatives who are on the target of terrorists.

Meanwhile, in the panchayat conference, it has been emphasized that the LG should give a relief amount of fifty lakh rupees to the families of the two panchayat representatives killed in the terrorist attack.

Along with giving a job to a member of his family, he should be given all possible support.
