Rajya Sabha proceedings to be adjourned sine die today, the decision taken due to Covid-19. In the wake of the Covid-19 epidemic, it has been decided to postpone the proceedings of Rajya Sabha indefinitely on Wednesday, a week ahead of schedule.

Today is the tenth day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament and a decision has been taken to postpone the Monsoon Session after the government has taken up important legislative functions.

The Rajya Sabha passed the Financial Contracts Bilateral Netting Bill, 2020 (Bilateral Netting of Qualified Financial Contracts Bill, 2020).

Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill

The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2020 (Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2020) was passed in Rajya Sabha. Funds coming from abroad for NGOs will be regulated on the basis of this bill. The bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on 21 September.

Minister of State for Home Nityananda Rai said in the House, ‘Many organizations hide their identity. Due to this, they are not afraid of anything and that is why the Aadhaar card was brought so that their identity can be revealed. Earlier, he said that the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill is a law for the country and internal security and its main objective is to stop foreign funds.

House adjourned sine die

Earlier, Minister of State for Home V Muralitharan said, “I have to inform the members that the government has decided to adjourn the house indefinitely, but before that some important bills will be passed in the Lok Sabha today.”

Opposition MPs gathered in office of Leader of Opposition

MPs from opposition parties, who boycotted the ongoing Rajya Sabha session, have gathered in the office of Opposition Ghulam Nabi. All these are going to discuss the Agriculture Bill passed in Parliament.

Already, Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad said, “Opposition parties boycotting the Rajya Sabha session called a meeting today in the office of the Leader of Opposition in the House.” Explain that in this meeting to be held in the office of Ghulam Nabi, the agriculture bill will be discussed among the opposition parties.

Zero hour notice

Earlier, Shiv Sena MP Anil Desai (Shiv Sena MP Anil Desai), RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha (RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha) have given zero hour notice in Rajya Sabha. RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha gave a zero hour notice to voters in the upcoming assembly elections in the states demanding health insurance cover. In the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, the opposition appealed for the return of the suspended MPs.

The National Education Policy will be discussed in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. Also many more important Bills (Major Port Authorities Bill, 2020, The Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Bill, 2020, The Factoring Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2020) to be passed on Sunday.

On Monday, 8 opposition MPs were suspended from the House on charges of creating ruckus in the House and uncontrolled treatment of the Deputy Speaker.
