In the matter of declaring the face of Punjab Congress, Randhawa has said that at present there is a tussle between the two leaders.

Punjab Deputy CM Randhawa’s big attack on Sidhu. Only if there is a decision on these will a third person get a chance.

Randhawa said on a TV channel that when Captain Amarinder Singh was removed from the post of Chief Minister, it was also decided that after my name was agreed upon, he would be the next Chief Minister.

But this could not happen because then Navjot Singh Sidhu was adamant that if a Jatt Sikh has to be made the Chief Minister then why he (Sidhu) is not being made.

It is noteworthy that Randhawa had even distributed sweets to his supporters saying that the party has selected him for the chief minister’s post.

But later, when the issue of the Chief Minister’s post got stuck, the observers of the party got voting done in the meeting of all the MLAs.

During this, Congress state president Sunil Jakhar got the maximum votes, but Ambika Soni gave a statement that a Sikh should be the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa also supported this point and Jakhar kept on becoming the Chief Minister.

Later, to settle the dispute between Sukhjinder Randhawa and Navjot Sidhu, both Jatt Sikhs, the party forwarded Charanjit Singh Channi’s name while playing the SC card and everyone agreed to it.

According to sources, the party is now putting forward Channi’s name for the 2022 elections, but Navjot Singh Sidhu is also publicly telling himself as the chief ministerial candidate.

Sidhu is saying that of course anyone should be declared as the chief ministerial candidate but he (Sidhu) should not be made a face.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi has also made it clear that the chief ministerial candidate from Congress will be decided on the basis of the choice of the party workers.

At the same time, the name of Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, who was at the forefront of the race for the post of Chief Minister, is not in discussion anywhere at this time
