Protests by caste organizations in Hubli for caste certificate issue. Lingayat organizations have protested in Hubli condemning the mention of Veerashaiva Lingayata in the caste certificate issued to the Lingayat community.
The National Basava Dal and Lingayat Dharma Mahasabha activists protested in Hubli demanding immediate correction of the caste certificate issued to the Lingayat community. The protests were held in front of the Tahsildar office, led by Channabasaveshwara Swamiji of Basava Jnana Peeth.
The caste certificate is given to the Lingayat community when the caste is certified as the Veerashiva Lingayata. Veerashaiva Lingayata is replacing Lingayat in SATS software even though Lingayatham religion is written in the students’ school enrollment. Protesters demanded that the government correct the loopholes. Hubli appealed to the state government through Tahsildar to take immediate action.
Protests by SSK society:
There was a protest by the Youth Association of the SSK community in Hubli, alleging that the government’s plans were not adequately addressed to the Somawansa Sahasrarjuna Kshatriya (SSK) society. The SSK society is a backward society. He expressed dismay that the projects coming from the central and state government were failing to reach the people.
