Opposition parties should unite for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Sonia Gandhi’s appeal in the meeting of 19 parties.

Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi in a meeting with leaders of opposition parties on Friday appealed to unite against the BJP.

She said that the opposition parties should be united not only in Parliament but also outside.

She said that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, we have to plan systematically with the aim of giving our country a government that believes in the values ​​of the freedom movement and the principles and provisions of our Constitution.

For this everyone has to unite. Leaders of 19 opposition parties including Congress attended this meeting called by Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

Leaders of 19 parties were involved in the virtual meeting.

DMK’s MK Stalin, TMC’s Mamata Banerjee, JMM’s Hemant Soren, NCP’s Sharad Pawar, Loktantrik Janata Dal’s Sharad Yadav, and CPI(M)’s Sitaram Yechury were present.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had told this morning that many issues including the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and the upcoming state elections will be discussed in this meeting.

NCP leader Nawab Malik said, ‘NCP has also been invited to the Congress President’s meeting of ideological parties. Sharad Pawar will attend this meeting at 4:30 pm today.

Regarding this meeting to be held today, it was already said that leaders of 18 opposition parties, including the Chief Ministers of West Bengal, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Jharkhand, will attend.

But Delhi’s ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will not participate. Apart from this, the Shiromani Akali Dal has also not been invited to the meeting.

According to party leaders, Sonia Gandhi will discuss the recently concluded monsoon session of Parliament with opposition parties.

Apart from this, the issues of economic slowdown, arrangements for pandemic Covid-19, Pegasus episode, and farmers’ performance will also be discussed in the meeting.

During the monsoon session, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called the opposition parties for breakfast and had a meeting. Congress leader Kapil Sibal also organized a dinner party on 9 August.
