Onam celebrations in Kerala today, President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday greeted people on the occasion of Onam. Onam is an agricultural festival celebrated in Kerala.
President Kovind tweeted and said, ‘Congratulations to all on the festival of Onam. This festival is an occasion to celebrate the arrival of a new crop.
It shows the tireless hard work of the farmers. It is also an occasion to show gratitude towards nature.
At the same time, the Prime Minister has given his best wishes by tweeting in both Malayalam and English languages.
He said in the tweet, ‘Best wishes on the special occasion of Onam. This festival is a symbol of positivity and brotherhood. I wish everyone good health.’
Onam celebrations in Kerala today: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan also extended Onam greetings to the residents of Kerala.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also congratulated the people of Kerala by tweeting on the occasion.
The agricultural festival Onam is celebrated every year on the 22nd Nakshatra Thiruvonam in the Chingam month of the Malayalam calendar.
In Kerala, this festival is celebrated with full joy and gaiety. It is believed that on this day (Onam) the soul of King Mahabali comes to Kerala and blesses the people of the state.
Send Owaisi to Afghanistan for women’s safety: Shobha Karandlaje on AIMIM chief’s remarks on Indian women.
Union minister Shobha Karandlaje on Friday hit out at Asaduddin Owaisi and said the AIMIM chief should be sent to Afghanistan for the safety of his women and his community.
On Owaisi’s remarks about atrocities and crimes against women in India, Karandlaje said, “It is better to send Owaisi to Afghanistan to protect his women and his community.”
Owaisi had recently questioned the central government saying, ‘According to a report, one in nine women in India dies before the age of five.
Atrocities and crimes against women take place here. But, they (Centre) are concerned about what is happening to women in Afghanistan. Is this not happening here too?’
Speaking at an event, Owaisi said that Pakistan would benefit the most from the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan as the country’s intelligence agency ISI controls the terrorist organization.
He said, ‘Pakistan has benefited the most from the Taliban’s occupation of Afghanistan. Experts are saying that Al Qaeda and Daesh have reached some areas of Afghanistan.
Jaish-e-Mohammed, which has been involved in acts of terrorism including the attack on Parliament, is now in Helmand, Afghanistan.
It must be remembered that the ISI controls the Taliban. ISI is the enemy of India and uses the Taliban as a puppet.
