NIA probes case related to Sri Lankan citizens living illegally in Rameswaram.

A National Investigation Agency (NIA) team arrived in Tamil Nadu’s Rameswaram on Sunday to probe the June detention of 38 Sri Lankan nationals living illegally.

Sri Lankan nationals were detained by the state police in Mangaluru, Karnataka. This action was taken after these people illegally entered the country through Tamil Nadu.

NIA probes case related to Sri Lankan citizens: Later the case was handed over to the NIA.

Police said that NIA officials inquired about the shelter of Sri Lankan nationals in Maraikkayarapatnam, Vedalai, and Seeniyappadaraha coastal settlements.

He said that the officials of the central agency also raised questions related to drug smuggling.

The detained Sri Lankan nationals left their country on March 17. He had paid Rs 6-10 lakh to Dalal in Sri Lanka on the promise of getting him a job in Canada.

Major negligence in the security of Air Force Headquarters.

Amidst the high alert issued in the wake of the terrorist incident, major negligence has come to the fore in the security of the Air Force Headquarters.

Two miscreants not only entered inside the headquarters but also stole the copper wire of the air conditioner (AC). Fortunately, they were caught by the patrolling security personnel.

On the night of September 17, two suspects entered Air Headquarters West Block-VI. Constable Bhim Singh, posted in DSC, told the police that he was on patrol around 4.15 in the morning.

Then he saw in the back of the building that two youths were breaking the copper wire of the AC fan of the building and keeping it in the bag.

Bhim Singh caught both of them and informed the senior officers. Along with the officers of the Air Force, other security agencies also interrogated the accused.

After that, he was handed over to the police. It is worth noting that last week, the Special Cell of Delhi Police had arrested six terrorists.

Air Headquarters is one of the most vulnerable buildings. Despite this, the miscreants breached the security of the headquarters.
