Mohammad Siraj And Umran Malik In Team India’s Reserve players
Mohammad Siraj and Umran Malik in Team India’s reserve players for T20 World Cup.
The Indian team management has included fast bowlers Umran Malik and Mohammad Siraj as reserve players for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022.
This information was given in a report. Jasprit Bumrah is battling a back injury and there are doubts about him playing in the T20 tournament to be held in Australia.
The report on the inclusion of Umran and Siraj in the reserve suggests that India will travel to Australia without Bumrah.
However, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly told Xtra Time digital channel in Kolkata on Friday, “Bumrah is not out of the World Cup yet and a final decision can be taken in the next two or three days.”

According to the sports media, both Umran and Siraj will travel to Australia with the Indian team.
Shami is yet to recover from the Covid-19 virus and due to the injury of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj has been included in the Indian team for the remaining two T20I against South Africa.
Siraj struggled relentlessly to find form in the Indian Premier League 2022 (IPL) season. During this, he took only nine wickets in 15 matches at a poor economy rate of 10.06.
On the other hand, the 22-year-old Umran took 22 wickets in just 14 matches in the IPL 2022 season and made his T20I debut against Ireland in June.
But he failed to make an immediate impact and has so far taken only two wickets in three T20Is at a poor economy rate of 12.44.
Umran also struggled for wickets against the New Zealand A team this month and his inclusion in the team as a reserve player comes as a surprise to many.
Apart from Bumrah, India has specialist fast bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, and Harshal Patel while Hardik Pandya plays the all-rounder.
India also has two specialist fast bowlers in Deepak Chahar and Avesh Khan who are already included in the reserve players.
Indian bowlers performed poorly in the Asia Cup 2022, where they failed to reach the finals after defeats against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Recently, India managed to secure a 2-1 win against Australia in the three-match T20I series at home, but the bowlers could not show much performance here too.
Especially in the first T20 match played in Mohali, the Indian bowlers failed to defend the target of 209 runs, after which Team India came under criticism ahead of next month’s World Cup in Australia.
