Manipur Violence: Biren Singh took stock of the ground situation in the violence-hit area, security personnel were also present.

Violence in Manipur has no name for stopping. Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Sunday took stock of the ground situation in the hills adjoining Bishnupur-Churachandpur.

During this, security personnel and officers were also present along with the Chief Minister.

The condition of the violence-hit state has worsened for the last two months and the situation has not yet returned to normal.

Two people died.

Police said at least two village volunteers were killed by bullets from unidentified gunmen in the Bishnupur district.

Let us tell you that this incident took place late at night in Khoijumantabi village when village volunteers were guarding the area against a temporary bunker.

According to the police officer, the number of casualties is expected to increase.

Due to the violence that broke out in the state, the ban on internet services is being extended continuously. In the current situation, the ban on internet services has been extended till 3 pm on July 5.

Restrictions Eased.

Restrictions imposed under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in Imphal West district were relaxed on Sunday.

According to a notification issued by Additional District Magistrate N Johnson Meitei, the restrictions on the movement of people were imposed on May 3 after clashes broke out in the state.

Why did violence break out in Manipur?

It is noteworthy that violence has been raging between the Meitei and Kuki communities in Manipur for almost two months. Because of this more than 100 people have died.

Clashes first broke out on May 3 after a “tribal unity march” was held in hill districts to protest the Meitei community’s application for Calendar Tribal status (ST) and another shooting has been reported in the past.
