Lionel Messi’s poor performance in the home ground has not scored a single goal in Ligue 1 yet.
Superstar striker Lionel Messi’s first match at Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) home ground Parc des Princes was a memorable one.
He failed to score on two crucial occasions against Lionel Messi’s side in France’s top domestic football league (Ligue I) and still, he is waiting for his first goal in this league.
Messi did not become the hero in this match, but substitute Mauro Icardi became the hero and his decisive goal helped PSG win the match 2-1.
Messi played the third match for the team, in which he failed to score and in the 76th minute he had to be a substitute who was called off the field.
PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino had put up an attacking line-up in this match with Messi, Neymar, Mbappe, and ngel Di Maria, with only Idrisa Guay and Andre Herrera in midfield.
Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnaruma was dropped in the match after Kellar Navas played in the Champions League. This is Donnaruma’s second Ligue 1 match.
In the 32nd minute of the match, Neymar cleverly sent the ball towards Messi through a backheel and he sent the ball towards the goal post but Anthony Lopes did not allow him to score with a good defense.

At the start of the second half, Lucas Paqueta smacked PSG goalkeeper Donnaruma in the 54th minute to give Lyon’s team the lead by scoring the first goal of the match.

Meanwhile, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino decided to replace Messi with Achref Hakimi in the 76th minute.

Mbappé failed to score a goal in the match but he passed the ball to Icardi and he scored with a header in injury time (90+3 minutes) to give the team victory.
After the match, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino said, ‘It’s a good win against Lyon’s team.
The way the team came back to win after scoring the goal is fantastic. We just need to improve on our game. PSC is at the top of the league table with 18 points.
Lyon’s team has had a good start this season but has also improved in some recent matches. He is at the ninth position in the table with eight points.
In second place is Masale, who beat Rennes 2-0 in another match. In the other matches of the day, Nice was held to a 2-2 draw by Monaco, while Nantes beat Angers 4-1.
