Lalu Prasad Yadav Convicted In Fodder Scam, Sent To Jail

Lalu Prasad Yadav was convicted in a fodder scam, sent to jail, 24 accused acquitted: CBI court’s decision.

Former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is facing trial in the fodder scam’s illegal withdrawal of Rs 139.35 crore from Doranda treasury, has been convicted.

RK Rana, Jagdish Sharma, Dhruv Bhagat have also been found guilty by the CBI court. At the same time, 24 accused have been acquitted in this case.

These include Rajendra Pandey, Saket, Dinanath Sahai, Ramsewak Sahu, Ainul Haque, Sanaul Haque, Mo Ekram, Mo Hussain, Shiro Nisha, Kalsmani Kashyap, Baldev Sahu, Ranjit Sinha.

Anil Kumar Sinha (supplier), Nirmala Prasad, Kumari Anita Prasad, Ramavatar Sharma, Smt. Chanchala Singh, Ramashankar Sinha, Basant, Sulin Srivastava, Harish Khanna, Madhu, Dr. Kameswar Prasad.

Many accused did not reach the court, they have to come by an evening at any cost.

On the other hand, important news is coming from the CBI court premises that many accused in the fodder scam case have not yet reached the court.

The court has taken this seriously and said that in any case, the accused will have to come to the court by evening.

It remains to be seen how these accused are being brought to the court or are able to reach till the evening.

The court sent the convicted accused to jail

A special CBI court has convicted 75 accused, including former Lalu Prasad Yadav, in the biggest case of fodder scam RC 47A/96 involving the illegal withdrawal of Rs 139.35 crore from Doranda treasury.

Special Judge SK Shashi acquitted 24 accused, including 6 women, who were trial faces in the case, for want of evidence. A total of 99 accused in the case are currently facing trial.

The court sent the convicted accused to jail. Along with, the date of February 21 has been fixed for hearing on the point of their punishment.

Let us inform you that Lalu Prasad has earlier been convicted in four cases of fodder scam. He has also been found guilty in the fifth and final case.

Earlier, CBI Special Public Prosecutor BMP Singh asked the court to give the harshest punishment to the accused. He said that sufficient and solid evidence has been found against the accused.

On behalf of the defense, it was said that there is no strong evidence against my clients. Also, considering the age, requested to pronounce the verdict.

During the hearing in the case, 55 accused including former Bihar Chief Minister Dr. Jagannath Mishra have died.

Two of the accused have already accepted the guilt. While the CBI has not been able to nab the six accused.

The CBI had made 8 accused a sworn witnesses. The CBI had filed a charge sheet on a total of 170. Whereas charges were framed against 148 accused on 26 September 2005.
