Kavaratti police will record a statement on Ayesha Sultana’s anticipatory bail plea, Kerala High Court orders.
The Kerala High Court has directed the Kavaratti police of Lakshadweep to record the statement on the anticipatory bail plea filed against her by filmmaker Ayesha Sultana in a sedition case.
The next hearing on the matter will be on June 17.
Let us tell you that Sultana is accused of spreading false news about the spread of corona in the Union Territory of Lakshadeep during a debate in a Malayalam channel.
A case was registered against her by BJP’s Lakshadweep unit Chief Akshyaks Abdul Khadar. After which, a case of sedition was registered against Ayesha Sultana by the Lakshadweep Police recently.
Although a case of sedition was registered against Ayesha by the BJP’s Lakshadweep unit president Abdul Khadar, 15 members of the BJP party had resigned in connection with this case.
The BJP leader has alleged in his complaint that Sultana has made an anti-national statement in which he tarnished the patriotic image of the central government.
Not only this, but the BJP leader had also demanded action against him. Let us tell you that earlier also BJP had protested in Lakshadweep demanding action against the filmmaker.
Local model and actress Sultana has worked with several Malayalam filmmakers.
