Protests have begun in Kashmir on Saturday against Shia leader Wasim Rizvi, who resorted to the Supreme Court to remove 26 verses of the Pak Quran. During this, BJP leaders also appeared united with Muslim organizations.

Senior BJP leader Manjur Butt of the Kashmir unit said that we have lodged a police complaint against Wasim. We want that there should be strict legal action soon.

No one should be allowed to speak out against caste or religion or to hurt any religious sentiments. We cannot see anyone speaking against our culinary Quran.

It is unbearable for us. State BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur said that this conduct of the former chairman of the Shia Waqf Board is unacceptable.

The Quran teaches us to love, teaches us to follow the path of truth and right. Islam does not teach violence anywhere. Wasim should be punished. He wants to create communal tension and hatred among the people.

Condemnation of Wasim: Farooq

National Conference President and former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that Wasim should be strongly condemned. What he is doing is unacceptable to us.

The Quran is the gift of Allah. His petition should not be accepted by the court. Legal action should be taken against Wasim taking cognizance of his act of hurting religious sentiments and inciting hatred among the people.

Kashmir flares up on Shia leader Wasim Rizvi: Mutahhita Majlis-e-Ulema, a common platform of various Islamic organizations in the Kashmir Valley, also demanded stern action against Wasim Rizvi.

The chairman of Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema is Mirwaiz Maulvi Umar Farooq, chairman of All Party Hurriyat Conference. Majlis A Ulema has demanded the arrest of Rizvi.

Kashmir’s Mufti-e-Azam Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam appealed to the people for restraint, saying the acts of the Shia leader were condemnable. There is an appeal to our government to arrest them and take legal action.
