Karnataka Local Body Elections Result: Counting of votes for Gram Panchayat elections in Karnataka continues.

The results of the recently concluded gram panchayat elections in Karnataka will come today.

For this, counting of votes has started in many places across Karnataka amid tight security.

On Sunday, 2,709 panchayats of 109 talukas of the state went to the polls for the second and final phase of gram panchayat elections in Karnataka.

According to Karnataka State Election Commission officials, the corona virus guidelines are being strictly followed at all taluk headquarters in the state.

Karnataka Local Body Elections Result: During this period, it is necessary to put on a face mask and observe social distance.

State Election Officer B Basavaraju said that the counting process started at 226 centers at 8 am and the results are expected by noon.

More than 1,100 security personnel have been deployed at the counting centers. Elections held in two phases on December 22 and 27 recorded a voter turnout of 78.58 percent.

According to officials, 1,05,431 candidates are in the fray for 39,378 seats. He said that a total of 3,697 candidates have already been elected unopposed.

On December 22, in the first phase, polling was held for 3,019 panchayats in 117 talukas. Voting was held for 72,616 seats in 5,728 villages in 226 talukas of the state.

In the wake of the Corona virus epidemic, the rule of wearing masks and social distance was made mandatory.

The number of voters at each booth has been reduced from 1,500 to 1,000. Around 80,000 police and security personnel have been deployed to conduct the election safely.

Apart from them, Anganwadi, ASHA workers, and Health Department officials have also been engaged in election duty.

However, these elections are not fought on any party symbol. However, all political parties try to ensure that the candidate they support wins, so that they can get hold of grassroots politics.
