Karnataka High Court Takes Legal Action Over Bangalore Metropole Accident

Karnataka High Court Takes Legal Action over Bangalore Metropole Accident and Urges Relevant Authorities to Respond.

On Friday, the Karnataka High Court accepted Suo Motu’s confession related to the collapse of a column under construction in the Bangalore metro. A Bangalore metro pillar recently collapsed, killing a woman and her child.

In this case, the High Court had suo motu jurisdiction and initiated a PIL hearing. Chief Justice Prasanna B. Warale and Ashok S. Kinnagri started hearing about PIL.

Referring to the news of the accident, the court expressed concern. The accident was caused by falling subway support.

On January 10, a pillar under construction collapsed near HBR Layout in Bangalore, destroying a pillar, damaging a two-wheeler, and killing a woman and child.

The court asked the relevant authorities to comment on the security measures taken in this case and asked whether the security measures were specified in the tender documents.

The court sought a response from officials.

The court asked whether the state government had issued an order on security measures stipulating the liability of contractors and officials involved in construction.

The Supreme Court has appointed Bang, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) as defendants in the case.

Notice was subsequently requested to be sent to the respondents and the hearing was adjourned.
