Karnataka Election Result 2023: Clear Majority For Congress In Karnataka
Karnataka Election Result 2023: Clear majority for Congress in Karnataka, now the party’s government in 4 states in the country.
The Congress has returned to power with a clear majority in the Karnataka assembly elections.
This performance of the party in the Karnataka assembly elections ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will surely enthuse the workers.
In South India, the BJP faced the challenge of retaining power in Karnataka, while the Congress also faced the challenge of making a comeback.
With the support of Basavaraj Bommai, the BJP tried its best to retain power, while the Congress tried to return to power by pushing the DK Shivakumar-Siddaramaiah duo forward.
Karnataka is one of those states where the government changes every five years.
This process is going on in Karnataka since 1985, the people here give a chance to one party for five years and another party in the next election.
This time too, the people of Karnataka were not in the mood to give a second chance to the party, repeating the same series with the BJP.
For the Congress, winning Karnataka was very important for survival in a way. In Karnataka, the Congress has managed to form the government by securing a clear majority on its own, so it is no less than a lifeline for it.
The last decade has been very bad for Congress in terms of electoral politics. During this, Congress was facing an election after an election defeat.
The performance of the Congress in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections was very poor.
Along with this, if we leave Himachal, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan during this period, the party has faced defeat in many states.
In 2018, Congress formed the government with JDS.
Let us tell you that when the results came after the 2018 Karnataka assembly elections, the BJP emerged as the single largest party, though it fell short of the majority figure.
In such a situation, Congress and JDS together formed the government.
Congress governments are in these states.
The main opposition party Congress is currently running the governments in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh.
Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan and Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu in Himachal Pradesh, while Bhupesh Baghel is leading the Congress government in Chhattisgarh.
Karnataka Election Result 2023: Rahul and Priyanka worked hard in Karnataka.
The credit for this victory is also being given to Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.
Rahul Gandhi covered a distance of 511 km on foot for 21 days during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Karnataka in three phases.
The Yatra received tremendous public support from the public as soon as it entered the state. The Bharat Jodo Yatra passed through seven Lok Sabha and 20 assembly constituencies in the state.
At the same time, party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi was also seen actively participating in the elections.
Just as she campaigned aggressively in Himachal, which brought success to the party, similarly in Karnataka, she was seen attacking the state government and PM Modi in her rallies.
Priyanka Gandhi won massive public support through 26 public meetings and roadshows in the state.
Now Congress government in 4 states. Now the Congress has governments on its own in Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Karnataka.
So on the other hand, in Tamil Nadu, Bihar, and Jharkhand, the Congress is still in the role of an ally in the coalition government.
Holding on to power in Karnataka will also benefit Congress in terms of strategy for the 2024 general elections.
After this victory in Karnataka, it can be assumed that Congress has once again made its comeback in the electoral fray.
