The departure of Savadi and Shettar is a big blow.

The departure of Jagdish Shettar and Laxman Savadi has been a big blow to the BJP. It is believed that the party may have to face a big loss in the coming elections due to this.

Actually, Shettar has been contesting elections from Hubli-Dharwad and was seeking a ticket from here, but the party refused to give it.

Congress can get the votes of the Lingayat community.

Shettar belongs to the Lingayat community and his joining the Congress can be very beneficial for the party.

The Lingayat community has 18 percent of voters in Karnataka and is considered a BJP supporter. However, now that Shettar has left the BJP, he alone can have an impact on 20 to 25 seats.
