This will be the first major meeting of the AIADMK after E Palaniswami (EPS) was recently promoted as the General Secretary of the party.

The AIADMK executive today held a meeting in which it targeted its rival ruling DMK. The executive discussed the alleged deteriorating law and order situation, highlighting the drug menace.

Strategy against the government.

The office-bearers of the AIADMK IT wing and its other workers were advised to raise their voices against the government on issues including exposing the ‘misdeeds’ of the ruling party.

At the same time, DMK was also demanded to implement its various election promises made before the 2021 elections.

The party took many resolutions.

Apart from rising inflation, the party targeted the government over the increase in property tax and water tax.

The meeting also made a plan to always stand by Palaniswami and “unmask the rebels of the party”.

In another resolution, the party resolved to work hard for the victory of the AIADMK-led alliance in next year’s Lok Sabha polls and the 2026 assembly polls under Palaniswami’s leadership.

Saying that such party congresses organized by former leaders MG Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa proved to be turning points in AIADMK’s history in the past even when it was in power, the congress was convened during the meeting. Sunday’s party executive meeting was scrapped.
