Terrorists’ attempt to infiltrate was unsuccessful, and one Army JCO was killed in an encounter on the LoC in Jammu. An encounter with terrorists on the Line of Control in Jammu resulted in the martyrdom of an Army Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) (Jammu Encounter). The terrorists’ infiltration attempt failed. Officials said that a JCO was injured in the encounter and later died. At present, the entire area has been cordoned off and additional forces have been deployed.

Officials gave this information on Saturday. He said that alert army personnel noticed the activity of a group of heavily armed terrorists near a drain in a forward forest in the Keri Bhattal area late Friday night and challenged them.
After which there was heavy firing, which continued for a long time. Officials said that a JCO was injured in the encounter and later died.
JCO Martyred in Failed Terror Infiltration: Cordon off the entire area
He said that the entire area has been cordoned off and additional forces have been deployed, and the search operation was going on till the last report was received. In the same area, two army personnel, including a captain, were martyred and another was injured when terrorists detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on February 11.
A meeting was held between Pakistan and India recently
The latest incident took place two days after India and Pakistan held a brigade commander-level flag meeting in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir to discuss issues related to border management. This was the second such meeting since February in an attempt to reduce tensions after about a dozen incidents of cross-border firing and IED attacks.
Along with its counterparts, the Indian Army strongly protested cross-border terrorist attacks and ceasefire violations. Along the Line of Control, ceasefire violations have significantly decreased since India and Pakistan extended the ceasefire accord on February 25, 2021.
Following the killing of a Pakistani invader along the international border in the RS Pura sector here on April 5, members of the Border Security Force (BSF) met with the Rangers to discuss the event.
