Encounter between police and miscreants in Tarn Taran, Punjab, one killed, four injured Last day, Tarn Taran was horrified after the robbery of four petrol pumps.

The robbers who died have been identified as Jatta, a resident of Gurmeet Singh Gopi, while the injured Jagjit Singh Jaggi Naushara Pannu, Fateh Singh Bhikhiwind, Gurjinder Singh Manakpura, Sikki Gandiwind Dhattal have been admitted to Patti Hospital.

During the encounter police station in-charge Lakhbir Singh’s driver Sarabjit Singh (Punjab Home Guard) and other personnel Vikram Singh were also injured in the shootout. SSP Nimbale said that these robbers committed seven robbery incidents during 24 hours.

The gang has carried out more than 30 robbery incidents in Amritsar and Tarn Taran. After the encounter, police recovered three pistols, one lakh amount, narcotics etc. from the spot.

Big loss averted due to police bravery when the police party was chasing the robbers, they boarded a car and entered the Mahi Resort of village Kairon on Tarn Taran Patti Road via Link Road, marriage was going on here.

There were more than 300 guests in the Palace, but the police took care to evacuate the guests safely from the Palace and laid siege to the Palace. Looters running towards the fields fired around 80 rounds on the police.

SSP Nimbale said that the police was fully supported by the guests of the wedding ceremony. Due to which there was no major loss.

SSP Nimbale claimed that Jatta, a resident of Gurmeet Singh Gopi, who died during the encounter, did not die due to bullet injuries but was badly intoxicated.

Drunk overdose or heart attack occurred while running. He claimed that all the accused injured during the encounter were intoxicated.
