Jammu Railway Station: CBI raid in railway parcel office, GST scam exposed.
The CBI has exposed the massive GST (Goods and Services Tax) scam in goods coming from other states to Jammu via the rail route.
The collusion of railway officials and employees has also come to light during this action taken under the anti-corruption campaign.
CBI officials raided the parcel office of Jammu railway station on Friday morning to check the goods arrived by various trains, which revealed huge irregularities.
During the investigation, it was found that according to the bill of the goods which were brought through the parcel, the goods in the parcel were quite high.
The value of some goods was also sent down. In addition, the number of items written in the bill was written, the parcel was found to be significantly more.
CBI officials also seized some goods in this action which lasted till late evening. During this action of CBI, officials of Sales Tax Jammu also reached the spot.
CBI carried out this action under the supervision of SP CBI Power Development.
The CBI officer said that he had been receiving complaints about a long time that the GST scam was taking place on a large scale in the goods coming from outside states at Jammu railway station. Due to this, this action was carried out.
The collusion of railway officials also came to light: The CBI official said that not only the businessmen but also the role of the employees working here are under suspicion in the ongoing GST scam at Jammu railway station.
It is not possible to have such a big scam without their knowledge. During the investigation itself, it will be known how the role of real officials in this whole case has been played.
The involvement of railway officials in corruption cannot be denied.
This action was carried out with 70 officials: CBI had encamped at Jammu railway station from around 6 am.
During this time, the goods which were being brought through various parcels arriving in Jammu were being examined on the spot.
Four DSP inspectors were present to carry out major CBI action. Railway Protection Force officers and personnel were also present with them to ensure that the CBI did not face any problem during the raid.
At the same time, the CBI’s sudden action stirred the staff at Jammu railway station.
Pooja Express and Rajdhani Express also have luggage: A parcel train runs daily at Jammu railway station, but goods from passenger trains are also brought to Jammu from different states.
According to the railway officials, most of the luggage at the station comes in the Pooja Express and Rajdhani Express running between Delhi and Jammu.
This is the reason that CBI officials have carried out this action on Friday morning.
